Doncaster Focus Group provide a number of services to its members ,some of which listed and explained below.
Women's Services
Working with refugee and asylum seeking women in Doncaster from grass-roots to policy making,ensuring that their concerns are heard and met.
Over half of all settled refugees and asylum seekers,not only in Doncaster but throughout UK,are women,and yet their specific tastes and needs are
routinely and grossly overlooked,both in asylum policy and practice.
Refugee Support
As Doncaster Focus Group,we adopt a wide range of roles that include acting as intermediary,interpreter,educator,campaigner,negotiator,representative
and advocate for refugee individuals.We host Refugee Integration and Employment Service(RIES),an organisation that supports refugees to settle within communities that they live.This organisation also provides support with information on getting vocational training and employment advice.
Volunteering
We do offer volunteering oportunities to refugees and asylum seekers who want to make a difference to other fellow refugees.
Campaining and Awareness
We do support campaigns to improve the lives of refugees,new emigrants and asylum seekers,based on research and experience around Doncaster and beyond.We support initiatives to incoperate the needs,hopes and skills of newly arrived migrants.
